How was Lithium Lasers born?

“Lithium Lasers was born out of a desire to revolutionize the industrial laser sector", explains Alessandro Greborio, the company's founder and CEO. "While working as a precision laser developer for leading international companies, I noticed a growing need for laser technologies capable of offering greater precision and speed, while keeping costs under control. In 2019, with the support of Politecnico di Milano, I decided to start Lithium Lasers. Our goal is to develop an innovative laser technology that can significantly improve the speed and accuracy of machining processes while reducing complexity and operating costs through a patented architecture.”

Where do you see Lithium Lasers in 10 years?

Lithium lasers will position itself in the manufacturing market as a leading supplier of lasers for industrial micromachining and as a technology partner for companies seeking innovative laser solutions to address the most complex challenges in precision manufacturing. We aim to offer cutting-edge solutions that meet the growing needs of the industry.

What was the biggest challenge?

One of the biggest challenges has been understanding and adapting to market dynamics. Integrating into existing production processes is complex, as industries are often reluctant to adopt new technologies unless they offer significant advantages over current solutions. For customers, evaluating new products can be costly and risky, especially if the new technology does not meet their specific needs. To overcome these barriers, we have diversified our business model. We offer not only our laser sources, but also consulting services for feasibility studies and production process optimization. This approach allows us to gradually introduce customers to our innovative solutions, mitigating risk and highlighting potential benefits.

What are the trends in your sector?

In the field of precision manufacturing, there is a growing demand for increasingly precise laser solutions, particularly in the high-tech market where miniaturization and high quality are key. The main trend is the adoption of ultrashort pulse lasers, which enable extremely clean, high-quality machining. There is also a strong push toward increasing the speed of production processes and innovative laser technologies are playing a key role in achieving these goals.

Who is the ideal investor?

Our ideal investor is someone with a strong interest in deeptech and a specific focus on high-precision manufacturing. Sectors such as consumer electronics, medtech, aerospace, luxury, automotive, and renewable energy are experiencing increasing demand for complex, high-precision machining, where lasers are essential tools. An investor with in-depth expertise in these areas can help us strengthen our position in markets that are crucial to our growth.

What makes Lithium Lasers unique?
